Chevrolet Service

It doesn’t matter if it’s newcertified pre-owned, or used, Chevrolet is known to design some of the best vehicles on the market. And at Best Chevrolet near Metairie, we’re dedicated to making sure our customers take care of their vehicle in the best possible manner.

In order to help achieve this, keeping up with a routine service schedule is strongly recommended. To get a general understanding of what to expect, we’ve created an outline of a Chevrolet service plan.

When to Service Your Chevrolet

Regular maintenance is a good way to keep your Chevrolet running with great power and efficiency. Even though a mechanic from our Chevrolet service center near River Ridge will have a plan tailored to your vehicle’s specific needs, below is a brief service guideline that you can trust.

15,000 Miles

Most modern Chevrolet vehicles don’t need their first oil change until reaching 15,000 miles. This is a major improvement from cars in the past, because most were already experiencing serious problems at this mile mark. Overall, an oil change and tire rotation should be the two main things you should expect to get done at this point.

30,000 Miles

At this many miles, the service may involve swapping out parts like air filters, fuel filters, and spark plugs. However, the main things that will be needed at this checkup is another oil change and tire rotation. We will also inspect things like:

  • Brake pads/discs
  • Brake linings/drums
  • Brake lines and hoses
  • Drive shaft boots
  • Plus much more!

For a chance to save money, make sure you check out our rotating service and parts specials! No matter what, we promise you a level of service you’ll appreciate.

45,000 Miles

This visit is the first one where drivers should expect that one of our service techs will suggest the replacement of parts. It’s common for spark plugs, air filters and fuel filters to be replaced at or around the 45,000-mile mark. Also, our Chevy service center will inspect other things that might need to be replaced, such as:

  • Transmission fluid
  • Brake fluid and coolant
  • Brake pads and rotors
  • Battery

Additionally, the 45,000-mile mark is an appropriate time to start considering getting a complete set of new tires. It’s important to note that some tires may last longer at this mile range, however, replacing them is still considered good preventive maintenance.

60,000 Miles

This mile range marks the point where almost everyone’s Chevy will need to consider replacing parts like: spark plugs, air filters, oil and fuel filters, and brake pads. Original tires will usually have to be replaced too. Also, our technicians might inspect parts including: the starter motor, cylinder heads, fuel injectors, steering components, and the drivetrain, to make sure no serious issues have occurred.

90,000 Miles

At this mile mark, spark plugs, brake pads, fuel filters and air filters will more than likely have been replaced, and may need replacement again. This is also the stage at which the difference between the parts seen in modern Chevrolets and those seen in prior generations of cars really becomes apparent. Overall, your vehicle will be checked from top to bottom, and we’ll make sure to inspect the safety technology features as well.
